Overview
In the middle of the "Old Village", the church dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Saviour is built. It was built in the 15th century (1520) and is in the same architectural style as the two other churches of the village, Panagia tis Theotokou and Agios Georgios the Perachoritis. Until 1994, it was open every day, as it was considered the main church of the village. In the church of the Savior, all the feasts of the 50 days of the Great Lent usually take place. It now operates 5-6 times a year. The dedicated icon of the Saviour, which is not very old, is placed in a special shrine in the centre of the church. It is celebrated on August 6, when the procession of the holy icon is held.
